Candle Care Tips
To ensure you get the most from your candle and enjoy a clean, long-lasting burn, follow our simple candle care guide below:
1. Trim the wick
Before each burn, trim the wick to around 1/4 inch (5mm). This helps prevent smoking, soot build up around the wick and keeps the flame steady.
2. Let your candle reach a full melt pool
Allow your candle to burn until the melted wax reaches the edges of the tin/ jar (this usually takes 3-4 hours). It is especially important on the first burn as it helps to prevent tunnelling.
3. Burn safely
Always place your candle on a heat-resistant surface, away from drafts, pets, and anything flammable. Never leave a burning candle unattended.
4. Limit burn time
Do not burn your candle for more than 3 hours at a time. This protects the wick and vessel and helps maintain an even burn.
5. Keep the melted wax pool clean
Ensure the melted wax remains free of matches, wick trimmings, or other debris.
6. Extinguish carefully
You can either pop the lid back on the vessel, use a snuffer to extinguish the flame. Avoid blowing out candles to minimise smoking.
7. Store properly
Keep your candle out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources to preserve its scent and natural ingredients.
